The Ghost of the Marshes

In a secluded corner of the zoo, a Short-eared Owl named Luna captivated night visitors with her ethereal presence. Rescued from the wild after an injury left her unable to fly properly, Luna was given a specially designed nocturnal exhibit that mimicked her marshland habitat.

Zookeepers noticed her keen ability to mimic sounds. Over time, Luna began "talking" to visitors, producing a hauntingly beautiful call that echoed through the exhibit. Children called her the “Ghost of the Marshes,” and she became the highlight of the zoo’s nocturnal tours. Luna’s exhibit was also used to educate visitors about the threats marshland habitats face due to urban development and climate change.
