The Gentle Giant

Elrik, a European moose, arrived at the zoo after being orphaned in the wild. Standing over six feet tall, he was an imposing yet gentle creature. Elrik quickly became a favorite due to his love for carrots and his quirky habit of “talking” to zookeepers by grunting.

The zoo created a spacious forest enclosure for Elrik, complete with natural vegetation and a pond. He often entertained visitors by playfully dunking his antlers in water and shaking them dry. Elrik’s story highlighted the importance of preserving forests and protecting moose populations from threats like habitat loss and hunting.
